This look all started with the Miu Miu sunnies. I'd been pining over these specs for years, ever since I first saw them on a blogger circa 2013. I rarely flock to the pieces that "influencers" are wearing, but these stuck with me. I never imagined myself spending that much on a pair of sunglasses, especially since the most I'd spent prior to these was $20, but I dreamed of them nonetheless.
I received a very generous gift that I knew I was never going to wear, and once I found out I could get a credit for it, I set about looking for what I might want instead. The stars aligned, I pinched my pennies, and bit the bullet!
The 50s cat eye style of these are endlessly flattering. Even though I'd had black on my mind, I'm glad I chose the tortoise shell instead. The color catches in the light, and makes them great for any outfit.
I completed the Betty Draper look with a colorful skull scarf tied high and tight, and this lovely green midi skirt that I've been able to wear so much more than I thought I would when I purchased it in the fall.
I loved this shoot especially because it was the last at my old apartment. The building was done in a cheesy French chateau style (see non-functional courtyard fountain above), but it was a cute little spot in the middle of Cap Hill. I will miss feeling like I'm in the heart of everything, but I won't miss the crazy parking crises!
